About the Role

The Principal Electrical Engineer is a key technical contributor within SlingWorks, supporting the development of advanced targeting and mission-system technologies. In this role, you will execute complex board-level electrical designs, contribute to subsystem integration, and remain hands-on throughout the hardware development lifecycle. You will design and debug PCBAs, integrate processors and sensors, and collaborate with other engineers across multi-discipline to ensure robust, high-reliability electrical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop board-level electrical hardware, including schematic capture and component selection
  • Implement electrical interfaces across digital, analog, mixed-signal, and power domains
  • Integrate processors, sensors, high-speed interfaces upto 5-10Gbps, and supporting electronics
  • Lead/Assist FPGA electrical integration and power-distribution approaches (no RTL required)
  • Collaborate closely with layout engineers to ensure signal integrity, manufacturability, and compliance
  • Perform board bring-up, electrical debug, validation, and troubleshooting in the lab
  • Develop test plans, validation procedures, and debug methodologies

Required Qualifications

  • Lead/Assist FPGA electrical integration and power-distribution approaches (no RTL required)
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering (master's preferred but not required)
  • 8+ years of experience in electronic design and hardware development
  • Required training: ESD and safety training (may be completed within first year)
  • Experience with aerospace/defense environments, MIL-STD requirements, or DO-254 practices is a plus
  • Strong experience with high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and power circuit design
  • Proficiency with schematic capture tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics Xpedition) and analysis/simulation tools (e.g., LTSPICE)

Compensation

In accordance with applicable pay transparency requirements, the anticipated compensation for this role is $65.00 - $72.00/hr, based on experience and qualifications.
