We are seeking a highly experienced Senior CNC Machinist to support prototype development and short-run fabrication in an advanced engineering environment.
This role requires strong hands-on machining experience across CNC and manual equipment, the ability to work from prints, sketches, CAD models, and verbal instructions, and the precision required to hold tolerances as tight as ±0.001 inch when needed.

Compensation
In accordance with applicable pay transparency requirements, the anticipated hourly rate for this role is $35.00–$38.00/hr, based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior CNC Machinist to support prototype development and short-run fabrication in an advanced engineering environment.
This role requires strong hands-on machining experience across CNC and manual equipment, the ability to work from prints, sketches, CAD models, and verbal instructions, and the precision required to hold tolerances as tight as ±0.001 inch when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines and lathes
- Fabricate prototype and short-run production parts from prints, CAD models, sketches, and specifications
- Machine a variety of materials including metals, plastics, fiberglass, composites, and wood
- Work closely with engineers, technologists, and shop personnel to support prototype development
- Set up and operate manual mills and lathes
- Support real-time design changes, modifications, and engineering requests
- Maintain shop equipment, tooling, work areas, and required safety standards
- 10–15 years of related machining and fabrication experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong experience with CNC programming, setup, and operation
- Proficiency with Mastercam CAM software
- Experience operating CNC milling machines and lathes
- Ability to set up and operate manual mills and manual lathes
- Strong knowledge of machining tolerances, precision measurement, and inspection
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and related machinist tools
- Ability to safely operate common fabrication and shop equipment
- Working knowledge of trigonometry
- Ability to travel up to 20% as required
- Experience with 4-axis and 5-axis CNC machining
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and ANSI/ASME drafting standards
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software
- Experience with HAAS CNC machining centers
- Aluminum and steel welding experience
- Wire EDM experience
- Prior experience in an R&D, prototype, or engineering machine shop
- Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar configuration/data management tools
