Data Warehouse Analyst (Business Intelligence)
Job Description
This position will be a senior level contributor. This person will
provide support of Business Intelligence (BI) initiatives. Primary
emphasis will be in the areas of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence
Systems that focus on Operational business metrics reporting and
analysis. The individual will be supporting new BI development initiatives
in support of an ERP implementation while carrying out production
support activities for the existing data warehouse. Essential Functions,
Skills & Abilities o Works closely with business users to understand
and document their BI requirements. Work closely with BI Data Acquisition
analysts, application personnel from source systems and Database
Administrators to design, validate and approve the design of BI
solution from an end user requirements satisfaction perspective.
o Acts as a team lead in all phases of project life cycle from requirements
definition through implementation for assigned BI/DW projects. o
Plans, maintains, enhances, designs, develops and implements changes
to a comprehensive data warehousing environment that will include
Data Acquisition tasks (acquire data from various source systems
to DW staging, loads to DW/ODS structures, detail to summary level
aggregation etc.), Data Access (EUL - End User Layer or Universe
- Semantic Layer for BI Tools, Discoverer, Business Objects etc.,
Reports, Metrics, Analytics etc.), Presentation (Subject Areas,
BI Portals, Metadata etc.), loading (ETL) and Security Layer (Groups/Roles
definitions, User Access Registration, Row level and Entity level
Security etc.). o Transforms key business reporting metrics to a
process and database design technology solution that promotes a
consistent and easy to use data analysis and reporting. o Passion
for end-user focused software applications design and development
with an appreciation for the software design process, including
strategy, development, rollout and adoption o Strong Knowledge and
experience working with SQL and PL/SQL in an Oracle Database environment.
Experience designing and developing Oracle PL/SQL packages and procedures.
Experience with migration of PL/SQL ETL jobs to is desired. o Strong
Knowledge and experience working with Oracle Discoverer in a terabyte
size Oracle Data Warehouse environment. Business Objects/Discoverer
experience highly desired. o Technical knowledge of data formats
and interfaces and online analytical processing (ADO ODBC JDBC OLAP
ROLAP).
